Chi Peng (b. 1981) lives in New York and Beijing. He is an internationally acclaimed multimedia artist and educator whose work uses body language as a medium to explore the communal relationship between the body and public space. His work has consistently addressed homosexual spiritual consciousness and identity perception, and he is among the first generation of Chinese contemporary artists to discuss homosexuality as a central theme.
Peng began his creative career in 2003. In 2004, his student works were included in “One to One: Visions—Recent Photographs from China” at Chambers Fine Art in New York, curated by Feng Boyi. Since then, he has presented over forty solo exhibitions and participated in more than one hundred group exhibitions across twenty countries. His works have been shown at the Groninger Museum, Helsinki Museum of Contemporary Art, Rubell Museum, Ludwig Museum, Today Art Museum, White Space Beijing, and other institutions.
In 2011, his solo exhibition “Me, Myself and I, Photoworks 2003–2010” occupied 1,200 square meters at the Groninger Museum. Since 2012, he has taught photography and self-exploration courses at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. From 2018 to 2020, he wrote and directed his first feature film, As Water in Water. He currently devotes himself to painting.
迟鹏，1981 年出生，生活于纽约与北京。他是一位国际知名的多媒体艺术家与教育者。其创作以身体语言为媒介，持续探讨身体与公共空间之间的共同体关系，并长期关注同性恋精神意识与身份感知等议题，是较早将同性恋主题置于当代中国艺术讨论中的艺术家之一。
迟鹏的创作始于 2003 年。2004 年，其学生时期作品参加纽约 Chambers Fine Art 展览 “One to One: Visions—Recent Photographs from China”，该展由策展人冯博一策划。此后，他举办了四十余次个展，并在二十个国家参与一百余次群展，作品曾在荷兰 Groninger Museum、芬兰 Helsinki Museum of Contemporary Art、美国 Rubell Museum、Ludwig Museum、今日美术馆、空白空间等机构展出。
2011 年，他在荷兰 Groninger Museum 举办大型个展 “Me, Myself and I, Photoworks 2003–2010”，展览面积达 1,200 平方米。自 2012 年起，他在中央美术学院教授摄影与自我探索课程。2018 至 2020 年，他完成首部长片《水在水中》。近年，迟鹏将主要创作精力投入绘画。
